A Story of Hope
Connie, John, and their two daughters were living in Somerville. John was working at a restaurant and Connie was self-employed as a house cleaner. Their lives were disrupted when Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Connie was unable to work for three months due to her treatments and surgery. Thankfully, her cancer is now in remission, and Connie is back to work. However, during those months when she was focused on her illness, she and her family got behind on their rent. After surviving a devastating illness, Connie and her family were at risk of losing their housing.
Connie and John went to the Community Action Agency of Somerville who submitted an application on their behalf to Family to Family. Family to Family was able to provide the back rent and keep this family in their home.
